It has nothing to do with the way it looks or feels. It has everything to do with the way I feel and the way I look at life situations when I step off my mat.
Spending time on my yoga mat often brings peace and puts everything into perspective.
It is one of my peaceful places. (My other peaceful places are watching the sunset and spending time on the water and in nature).
My yoga mat is one of the places I find space to breathe, to be still, and to move.
It is a place to connect with myself -my soul, my body, my heart.
A place to pray.
A place to unplug.
A place to rest my mind.
A place to explore movement.
A place to feel my feelings.
A place to surrender.
A place to re-energize.
A place to receive.
I don’t necessarily go to my mat searching for peace but, just like that, it happens. Suddenly my restless mind settles, my heart softens and my body releases. I experience subtle shifts in energy and moments of clarity.
